Our Story

Our daughter Macy was born with a heart condition called Transposition of the Great Arteries. After open-heart surgery on her first day of life, she spent the next seven months in ICU recovering from serious complications. During this time, Macy also suffered an Acquired Brain Injury due to a still-undiagnosed metabolic condition, which later led to a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy.

When Macy became an NDIS participant, we quickly realised how hard it was to find support from people who truly understood the system from a lived experience perspective. There was very little guidance from those who knew firsthand what it meant to navigate the NDIS as a family — the stress, the confusion, and the fight to both access the scheme and use it properly.

Because of this, Kym took on the role of learning and managing everything herself to support Macy. As she did, other families began reaching out for help after being directed to her because of the work she was doing for our daughter. What started as helping a few people quickly grew into something much bigger.

When this support became almost a part-time job in itself, MIM Supports and Training was born — built from lived experience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make the NDIS easier for families like ours.

Why us?

What truly makes MIM Supports different is that we don’t just work in the NDIS — we live it. Our team is made up of people with real, lived experience as parents, carers, and advocates. We understand the stress, the overwhelm, and the emotional weight that comes with navigating the system, because we’ve walked that path ourselves.

We bring genuine care and passion into everything we do. Our clients aren’t just numbers or plans — they are people and families who deserve to feel heard, supported, and safe. We take the time to build real relationships, listen to your story, and understand what matters most to you.

We also pride ourselves on providing a highly personal service. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all support. We offer face-to-face visits, regular check-ins, and hands-on guidance to make sure you feel confident and supported every step of the way. Our goal is simple: to walk beside you, not just work for you.
